About Katarina Henriksson

I am a metal craft artist based in Skärhamn on the island of Tjörn in Sweden. My work is also represented at Konsthantverkarna and Nutida Svenskt Silver in Stockholm.

I use silver and other metals to shape what I see in nature. Through plants I sometimes reflect on human experience. Weeds from roadsides and plants from gardens are of equal interest to me. They become jewellery and other objects where the craft carries the stories forward.

The forms are based on real plants, but I rework and adapt them to function in metal and in the structures I build. By assembling different individual plant elements, I create objects and jewellery where each part contributes to the whole.

Education and experience

I have a Master of Fine Arts from HDK – School of Design and Crafts in Gothenburg, 1994 (Now HDK – Valand). Since then, for over 30 years, I have devoted myself to my craftsmanship. CV down below.

Jewellery

Besides art jewellery I make pieces in small series. You can find my jewellery for sale in various places, including Konsthantverkarna in Stockholm and Nutida svenskt silver. Direct purchases from me

I don’t have a physical store, but during Easter time, I am open in my workshop in conjunction with the Art Walk in Southern Bohuslän. Otherwise, you are welcome to visit me by appointment in Skärhamn in my studio. Please contact me to book a time so that we can arrange a visit that suits both of us.
